MYOTONIC FAINTING GOATS
Frequently asked questions
The myotonic goat or Tennessee fainting goat is an American breed of meat goat. It is characterised by myotonia congenita, a hereditary condition which may cause it to stiffen or fall over when startled. We can confirm that our goats do indeed "faint" when startled, but we don't try to scare them on purpose :)
Close enough to take a selfie! Goats are very social animals and our resident compost. They will be the first to approach you and the last to leave your side only when they're sure the food is gone.
You are welcome to feed them grain and they will happily eat from your hands. They do not like the smell of hand sanitizer, so use it when you are finished feeding.
